Why your site is banned from Google

Last week I signed up to the Google Webmaster Groups RSS feed to see what issues site owners were facing and hopefully get some inspiration for future blog posts.

One user posted about an old, established PR6 site called GadgetMadness.com that had not had any new pages indexed since 2006 despite the old pages being spidered and indexed on a regular basis. The site has thousands of RSS readers and lots of trusted links so I wanted to find out what was going on.

Now the thing about Webmaster Groups is that everybody thinks they have a perfect site that deserves to rank number one in Google. Nobody has ever done anything to break the guidelines and even if they have those issues were solved “months ago”.

The owner of this particular site has spent 9 months trying to figure out why the pages are not being indexed and even has a SEO company working on the issue but they don’t know whats going on either.

After 5 minutes of looking I find that has been running Digital Point Coop ads since 2006.

If you break the Google guidelines you really can’t complain if you get banned. Most people will be happy to help you for free but if you waste peoples time by not mentioning the fact you run auto generated links to mortgage and credit card sites you run the risk of upsetting people.

Anyway, I hope this clears up the issue for them but I doubt Google will start indexing anytime soon.

Your article is inaccurate, please reference the Google groups posting. We removed the Digital Point Ads in October of 2006. Thanks!

If you look at this page cached in Google you can see that Google is still seeing the ads. It doesn’t matter when you removed them if Google still has them on a cached page.

Well spotted Sir.

I can clarify from personal experience once you get involved with Digital Point Coop that you can screw your website forever. We have done Digital Point 2 years ago. Since then the website has grown and looks really nice, but no indexed pages at all. We have tried reinclusion attempt 8 months ago and still nothing from Google.

What is a Digital Point Coop ad, and what does it do that pisses Goog off so much?

These are un-natural link schemes and once Google figures out that links flash on and off because it’s in a network I think the site is in trouble for too much search engine manipulation.
