Why Netscapes traffic has dropped
TechCrunch reports today that Netscape suffered a big drop in traffic since moving the Digg clone over to a new domain.
I’m not quite sure why this has come as a surprise to anybody, the thousands of SEO’s with the Alexa toolbar installed who used Netscape were the only reason the rank was so good in the first place. When they moved on the ranking was bound to drop.

I hate the way everyone calls it a digg clone, digg is a slashdot clone if you go down that road, Netscape/Propeller has brought quite a lot of new things to the table and digg has recently ripped off quite a few of their features. Some guy from the guardian even called it a digg clone trying to act cool. MSaleem has pointed out on digg that the Quantcast stats say different.
I left netscape when they switched domains but have since gone back to submit a story here and there.
