Why do people still link to Technorati?
The image below, taken from SEOmoz shows something that loads of blogs still have, links to Technorati.

Why do we still link to a site that has enough links to rank for everything? What is the point?
I know that some bloggers nofollow the links (SEOmoz included) but you are still sending valuable traffic to a site that doesn’t send any in return. In fact, does anybody ever click on Technorati tags? Does anybody ever visit your site from Technorati?
You don’t need to link to Technorati to appear in their tag pages.
You do not have to link to Technorati. You can link to any web page that ends in a tag - even your own site!
In my tag system I use rel=”tag” to link to my own category pages and keep the traffic and link juice myself.

I figured out that part months ago when I was installing simple tagging plugin in my blog. I have hardly received any traffic from Technorati for any of my posts so far. Point well said!

I never understood why people would link to Technorati tags…

I agree, the only thing I find Technorati useful for is finding who has linked to my blog.

I guess the reason is that Technorati has a big amount of traffic & a pagerank still 8…
