Bugs on BlogStorm and how to fix them

There are a few minor bugs that our users have been reporting over the last few hours.

The first is that we are having trouble tracking blogs if a user has stated the url as website.com/blog rather than just website.com. Our team is working on a fix for this issue but in the meantime it will be best to just add your site as website.com. If you have already added your site and it isn’t being tracked properly then please post the url in the comments and I will fix it.

Another issue is that people using the Blogger platform are unable to upload php scripts so can’t use the service. The reason behind our requirement for a php script is that Yahoo (the place we get our link data) only allows 5,000 queries per day from our website. Obviously this would limit the number of blog posts we could track.

The solution for those of you who can’t upload the php script is to ask a friend to upload the script on your behalf and to share it with them. The script does NOT need to be on the same site as the blog you want to track links to.

If you are having problems getting the script to work, send me an email and I will upload it for you.

This is a fantastic tool! I’m really looking forward to using this in my own blogs and will certainly write about this as I’m sure it will be a useful resource for my readers.

I am very glad to know that the PHP file doesn’t need to be on the same server as the blog it tracks. I use Blogger to publish (and so do the majority of my readers). Many such services require the use of plugins and PHP which is hosted on the same server. SO it is a welcome change to see that this can be hosted externally, yet still provide the correct analysis data.

Thank you for this great service!
