Tip: Allow people to subscribe to your blog by email

by Patrick Altoft on / no responses

FeedburnerMy preferred method of reading blogs is to subscribe to their RSS feed using Netvibes and I sometimes forget that a lot of people don’t use an RSS reader.

When building BlogStorm I forgot to give people the option to sign up by email until infonote reminded me.

Thanks to this reminder I added the email subscribe option on the left hand side and 15 people signed up in the first few hours.

Feedburner offers email subscriptions as a free service. Visit Publicize > Email Subscriptions in your feed control panel to turn it on. Make sure you configure the options to suit your site.

The moral of this post is make sure you turn on your email subscription option in Feedburner and give users a way to keep up with your blog via email.
