London 2012 Olympic Games

by Patrick Altoft on September 11, 2008

While it’s fresh in my mind just how much buzz and traffic this years Olympics created even though they were on the other side of the world I thought it was about time to start working on my 2012 campaign.

The Olympics takes years of dedication and planning if you want to be at the top during the event so it pays to start building your sites well before everybody else.

How much traffic will London 2012 generate? My guess is a LOT.

“it pays to start building your sites well before everybody else”

LOL…and start creating pages like this! I watch your blog regularly Patrick, I like how much traffic you pick up from indirect searches. Getting on the bandwagon early doesn’t always pay off, but I find that when you do, you can win big!

’so it pays to start building your sites well before everybody else.’

Best of luck, but may be a tad late starting, (mine and many others, started on 14th July 2005, while most have fallen by the wayside, those that remain have grown!)
As for the worry about copyright, its a minefield, but as a rule, don’t use the word ‘Olympic’ or the word ‘London’ together with ‘2012′ and ‘games’
There are then words in group one that cant be used with those group two, confused?, join the rest of us!

The words Olympic, Olympiad and Olympian
Olympic rings, Team GB and British Olympic Association logo
Words London 2012, London’s bid logo and derivatives of London2012.com
The 2012 Games logo and mascots (not designed yet)
Olympic motto Citius, Altius, Fortius/Faster, Higher, Stronger
The British Paralympic Association and team logos
Other banned words include games, medals, gold, silver, bronze, 2012, sponsor, summer

I do have the full guide lines if you want to view at

This is an excellent suggestion. We’re planning to do a number of Olympic 2012 events and to have those pages working some while in advance will give a define headstart. Rgds Vince
