iPhone is sold out – no more stock expected

by Patrick Altoft on / 7 responses

Those of you in the UK who don’t yet have an iPhone better get to the shops quickly. The iPhone has almost sold out.

O2 are running low on stock according to some bloggers and Carphone Warehouse have sold out totally and don’t expect to get any more in the future which is pretty amazing. Looks like the 3G version will hit the UK in June after all.

Thanks to the most phenomenal response to the promotion, The Carphone Warehouse is now out of stock
on the Apple iPhone.

Please can you remove all reference to the iphone promotion in your copy.

We apologise for the short notice but would like to thank everyone who participated in the campaign.
Carphone do not expect to receive any additional stock at this time.

Thanks,

The Carphone Warehouse Team

Wow, this is amazing! So this has to be a well architected marketing plan, right? There is no way that they would shut down sales if they weren’t planning a new roll of product.

I sell in the US and have found the best way to make money on iPhones is thru auctions.

I just checked eBay in UK and there is quite a few iPhones for Sale there.

What is the general opinion of using auctions for consumer electronics such as iPhones in the UK?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

A phone is a phone is a phone.

As long as I say, “Hello” and somebody on the other end says, “Hello” back to me, I’m happy.
