How to have sex using the Internet

by Patrick Altoft on / 2 responses

The second most popular “How To” search query in the UK at the moment is “How to have sex”, according to Heather at Hitwise.

I was toying with the idea of posting about how to write a CV (the most popular query) but attracting thousands of people trying to figure out how to have sex seemed easier somehow.

Lets see if this post gets more traffic than the Giles Wareing experiment.

In the past only 80% of people searching for information on how to have sex actually clicked on a search result, this might be due to the fact not one other website is targeting this term. Hitwise data is so valuable it’s amazing. If it didn’t cost £10,000 per year I would be a subscriber.

I’ve been following your little ranking experiments recently, and I find them very interesting! One thing you might want to look at (especially for this one) is DaveN\’s recent post on how to control the Google snippets for your blog posts. I think that’ll help your CTR for this term. Just my $0.02.

Very good – currently you rank no 10 for “how to have sex” on Google. How much SEO work/backlink creation did that take?
