How to Fix Your Feedburner Issues

by Patrick Altoft on / 7 responses

Feedburner has been broken for a few days now and everybody seems to be complaining about lost subscribers and even feeds that don’t work.

The problem is with the transfer of your feed from Feedburner to the new Google system and the best way to fix things is to log in to Feedburner and follow the instructions to manually move your feed to the new Google system.

It seems that Google is no longer reporting people who subscribe using Google Reader and iGoogle to Feedburner, hopefully this will resolve itself on the new platform.

I’m going to stay with Feedburner till all is back to normal, then transfer. I think the issue will solve on both ends at the same time.

It’s not everyone lots of us were migrated weeks ago, saw a few issues, and resolved within 2-3 days. I suspect it’s the UK-based websites this time round?

There’s a problem with MyBrand and the manual move too. Currently my RSS URL is redirecting people to http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/myfeeds

Less than ideal. I’d rather have dodgy stats and a working feed than working stats and a borkicated feed.

I manually transferred one set of my feeds over to Google and the Google Feedfetcher stats are still missing. And the feed subscribers counter is displaying zero. And the other feeds I didn’t move across are also broken…

I noticed a drop in my subscribers when i logged in to change it. However, once I manually transferred, as per google’s instructions…my subscribers went down even more…is this because of the fact that they aren’t “reporting” those subscribed via iGoogle and Google Reader, as you mentioned? Do you think this will be changed?

Geez, I haven’t even moved yet and I lost 150 subscribers! Now I’m afraid to move at all.

I also want to mention that here in China we can’t see your Feedburner user count with their widget, shows up as a X. Just a heads-up! Also technorati doesn’t load here either ;(
