Google Trends now shows visitor numbers and keywords for your competitors

by Patrick Altoft on June 20, 2008

Every so often Google seems to release a groundbreaking product out of the blue and today they have done it again with a new free research and analytics tool.

The latest incarnation of Google Trends allows you to see raw visitor numbers as well as search keywords for any website in the world.

The data isn’t totally accurate but it is probably much better than Alexa and is worldwide, unlike services such as Compete.com which although very useful doesn’t include UK data.

Certainly something to keep people busy over the weekend.

Its interesting that if you are not logged in then you won’t see the scale on the graph. So anyone who wants that figures, go and get the google account :)

Hey Patrick,

Seems Google have removed the actual figures and replaced this with a Search Volume Index, which does not hint at the amount of traffic a site receives…

Wish I’d spent more time on it yesterday when you reported it :(

Oh well….

Please ignore my last comment. What a muppet – I was on searches rather than websites!
