Get more links by being a news blogger

The one statistic that the BlogStorm Tracker has reinforced for me
over the last two months is that news bloggers attract a lot ore links
than blogs offering tips and informational content.

You don’t have to be blogging about news all the time but adding a few
unique stories per week that are related to the rest of your content
works very well as part of an ongoing linkbait strategy.

Sites such as Mashable, Engadget, Gizmodo, Consumerist and CrunchGear
as well as Search Engine Journal, Search Engine Land and Marketing
Pilgrim
are all examples of sites that gain a lot of links by covering
the latest news in their niche. Most of these sites also offer a
mixture of informational content as well to keep regular readers
happy.

Being a news blogger is hard. Unless you gain a reputation for
breaking news stories first and having quality content it is hard to
gain traction. Even when you get thousands of RSS subscribers many
will not bother to read your stories unless you’re the first to
publish (make sure you ping Feedburner!) or have an interesting title.

Made for Selling Text Links? http://www.hihongkong.ws

I think your losing sight of the fact that most SEO’s don’t practice SEO solely on search, or website marketing sites. When you have a website in a niche like SEO or Tech Gadgets its not difficult to gain links! When your in real estate or insurance it gets a bit harder for those links of love.

John, maybe my post could have been clearer. Smile I was meaning that if you already have a blog, try to blog about the news as well as your core subject. This should make it easier to attract links, even in niche subjects.
