Funny Keywords People Use to Find Massive Sites Like Digg

Looking at my own search stats I’m often amazed by the things people search for to find my sites, however analysing somebody elses site is always much more interesting.

Compete offers a wealth of information free of charge including some interesting and very accurate stats on traffic and search terms for different sites.

Let’s look at the search terms referring people to some major sites:

I can’t be 100% sure, but I THINK it might have been me who found technorati by searching for sexycollegegirl.

Actually i think, this is all because porn stuff get optimized much quicker than other posts so people prefer to put more that kind of stuff on these sites like digg.

and

“collecting praying mantis chiang mai”

That’s one hell of a long tail!

i saw another interesting site. You are able to challenge other links. to see who has a finnier link. then users vote on it.. and winner gets points and points let you get extra cool features on the website.. well amongs other fun things
