Forbes launching ad network for bloggers

by Patrick Altoft on January 15, 2008

Apparently Forbes.com are launching an ad network this month targeted towards bloggers. I’ve not heard about this before but it sounds interesting.

You are invited to join the new community of the high quality business and
financial bloggers from Forbes.com. Our community – the Business and Financial
Blog Network, will launch in January 2008.

Your blog will be promoted to our roster of blue-chip advertisers and we will
only run campaigns that are appropriate for your audience.

You will receive 40% of all net revenues collected by Forbes.com (after agency
commitments, ad serving fees and external network support).

Forbes.com will provide you with a Business and Financial Blog Network badge
to denote membership.

Has anybody else heard much more? Apparently CPM’s will be $10 – $20 at launch.

Patrick Altoft is Director of Search at Leeds based digital & SEO agency Branded3. Patrick also runs Blogstorm.

It sounds like a dozen other systems that have approached me over the last couple of years offering great ad revenues that never really came to owt.

Find me on Twitter

I track referrer information for my contact form and the Forbes girl visited my site via crenk.com which has a list of 100 make money online blogs. :)

I got this invitation too and thought it was a scam because the url for the invitation wasn’t forbes.com :)

One of my clients has been invited.

Patrick, It is good to know i gave you a nice referral from http://www.crenk.com. It seems as though my site is getting a name for itself. Does this mean you will be joining the Forbes network.

Steven Finch 16 Jan 2008 at 2:20 am

Nick: I got an invite and it was from the forbes.com url!

John 16 Jan 2008 at 9:51 am

I was invited, still not sure if it’s worth it. They want your two most valuable ad spaces and in return they will add you to their “Best of Blogs” list.

David Bradley 17 Jan 2008 at 10:36 pm

Add you to their “Best of blogs list”? Probably on a PR0 page, with a dynamic link, and several hundred other associates. So likely to be worthless in SEO terms and even potential traffic

Patrick,

Have you worked any more on this and whats the outcome? It looks like a great program but not sure if any advertisers are really going to be paying those rates.

Cheers,
Gaj
