Find Conferences the Easy Way with Conference Calender

by Patrick Altoft on / 7 responses

I’ve attended and spoken at a number of conferences over the past 12 months and find them to be beneficial from both a learning and networking perspective. Finding which conferences to attend (especially when you’re first starting out) can be tricky. My friend Al Carlton (coincidentally enough we first met at a conference), also saw this as a problem and developed a solution, Conference Calendar.

Conference Calendar

Conference Calendar as the name suggests is a calendar of conferences, it’s broken down into appropriate categories, like technology conferences, SEO conferences, business conferences, etc. Each section lists upcoming conferences in date order or via graphical calendar views for easy planning ahead.

When you find the conference you are interested in attending the site provides you with details of the event, local hotels, Google map, transport links and if available discount codes (for the upcoming Think Visibility they have a discount code of 30%), so it could save you money on any future conferences you want to attend.

Overall I like the idea and wish Al the best of luck with it, check it out at Conference Calendar, I know Al would appreciate any feedback.

Thanks to Jo from conference calls for the tip.

Looks good and I look forward to seeing it develop, but I couldn’t easily find how to filter by region – but im sure the functionality will follow.

Thanks for the write-up Patrick, much appreciated.

@Matthew – Thanks, I’ll add your suggestion to the ever growing feature wish list, we are ticking bits off one by one.

Assuming most of the conferences on the list will be located in the US, there is no point for non-us users to use this site when you can’t sort by country (or region as mentioned earlier). I’m in Australia and we have heaps of conferences here, but as far as I know, there is no site collecting all of them in a simple and sortable way. Would be great if I could filter out the Australia based events only. Can’t believe how such a vital function was missed in the first place.

It would get my bookmark if it had that. I don’t, so it won’t get bookmarked by me.

You spelt ‘calendar’ wrong in the title. Instant negative cred in my eyes. ;-)

@Kenneth & @Matthew – We’ve just added the functionality so you can now filter by country, more advanced searches will follow. Thanks for the suggestion.

@Kenneth – We haven’t got many Australia events listed yet, there will be in time.

@James – Err WTF?

@Al – there’s no need to be rude. Not sure what you’re picking issue with either.

@James – Sorry didn’t mean to be rude, I talk like that normally :) . I’ve checked the site and couldn’t see the spelling error, just noticed it on this post so I know what you mean now, oops. If you can get yourself to the ThinkVisibility conference in Leeds this Saturday I’ll give you a t-shirt and beer.
