Final batch of website reviews

by Patrick Altoft on / 6 responses

Here is the fourth and probably the final batch of website reviews. I wasn’t really expecting so many people to ask for reviews and reviewing so many sites isn’t really scalable so it’s best to stop it now before too many more people ask for a review.

To replace the reviews I will be doing a question and answer service so if you have a general question that hasn’t already been answered on the blog please let me know via the contact form and I will post an answer.
To find your review see the full list of website reviews, if it isn’t there then I looked at the site but didn’t have any advice that hadn’t been said in the other reviews.
Party Ideas

This is a good site, I suggest adding articles and a blog and perhaps trying some linkbait.

Wood burning stoves section of Fireplaces website

usasportstraining.com

Some basic SEO tips here. Make sure you have unique meta descriptions and titles on each page. Put your product names first in the title.

Build deep links into your category pages to get your product pages out of supplemental. Read this guide for more details. Start a blog and focus on the cool gadget related products to get some good links from gadget bloggers.

Also make your buy now and add to cart buttons bigger.

gadgetvenue.com

Linkbaiting for a gadget site is easy. You need to establish a reputation for being first to break the news and for writing accurate and high quality content.

If you get a breaking story don’t be afraid to email Engadget, Gizmodo and CrunchGear as they will feature your post if it’s good enough.

Use social networking but if you aren’t getting any traction on sites like Digg don’t carry on submitting your posts in case you are labelled as a spammer.

spitbook.com

Release some killer gossip every day and promote the hell out of it. You will get links in the long term.

Also I would remove the footer links as they won’t be helping you at all.

vamoosevarmint.com

Add some keywords such as “pest control” to your homepage title tag. The rest of your site looks fine. Carry out some basic keyword research to see what you want to rank highly for and target those terms.

popularproductreviews.com

Put some keywords in your title tags. Make unique titles and meta descriptions for all your pages. Redirect your affiliate links to get more sales.

gamecheats.eu

Personally I would recommend removing the paid links in the footer. Linkbait will be hard unless you can diversify a bit. Maybe add a blog on to the site with a broader subject such as games in general and then target the bigger tech blogs and try to get links from them.

demp.se/y

Aside from needing some meta descriptions the site looks fine. The only way to monetize a personal blog using affiliate marketing is to wait until a page ranks for something and then add some appropriate affiliate links.

www.joinmyband.co.uk

Nice use of Auction Ads. You could also start a blog with a daily newsletter and review some music products on it and include some affiliate links via Auction Ads or other programs. Use the blog to announce the latest ads to encourage people to subscribe.

I expect the way to get word out is to use myspace and facebook. Create some widgets so people can put the latest ads on their pages. Maybe hire a myspace guru to figure out how to market to myspace users, it can be hard if you are new to it.

bangkokbaby.com

To linkbait a blog like this you need to have information and tools about all the local attractions. Use Google Maps and create something remarkable and useful and you will get links.

meetech.net

The best way to do long term linkbait is to watch what other sites are doing and try to copy the methods (but not the content). For example if you check digg every day you will see what people enjoy reading about. Write similar posts and you will appeal to the right people.

Some “How To” articles might work well.

affiliatelink.org

Nice domain. Linkbaiting a forum is hard so you might want to add a blog to the site to attract some links. I have had good results using the ICO Content automated forum filler to kick start my forums. It gets content from Yahoo Answers.

infospacedirectory.com

The best way to make a directory stand out is to add a blog and start linkbaiting. In the long term the only directories that will have value will be the ones that get natural links.

placid-mind.com/blog

Make more money on your Auction Ads using this tip. I don’t have any specific linkbait advice other than reading the guide and trying to create quality content. Make sure you connect with the bloggers you want links from so they know who you are.

adsung.com

Launching a new ad network needs a lot of money and creativity. Use ReviewMe to gain users from as many of the big blogs as you can.

Shoemoney had great success launching Auction Ads so read about how he did it and the linkbaiting tactics he used.

dealburn.com

I would offer all your deals as an RSS feed with a big RSS button on the front page. This helps the site gain regular users.

The key with this sort of site is to have loads of good deals updated daily. Unless you have that you will struggle to retain users.

realmadrid-club.net

I would try creating some applications for facebook and myspace so users can show the latest news on their pages. Maybe pay a few people to show the widget to get it kick started.

macosxtips.co.uk

Linkbaiting and Apple go hand in hand so you shouldn’t have too much trouble. As well as using Digg like you already are maybe try emailing other bloggers to start up relationships. Also add unique meta descriptions.

medicalnursingbusiness.com

I think the paid links in the footer might be harming your sales a bit. Also if you are selling products maybe you should remove the Adsense. Maybe if you start up a health blog on the site you could attract links but I’m not sure how linkbaitable this industry is.

anxietynomore.co.uk

Test some larger “buy now” buttons, also try using Yahoo Answers to build your reputation and drive traffic.

stifxonline.com

I don’t know anything about this market so can’t really offer any tips. Maybe try some contests and advertise on other blogs to build your user base.

trendygadget.com

I would use a bigger RSS button to get more subscribers. Email the likes of Gizmodo, CrunchGear and Engadget when you create a good post and use Digg, StumbleUpon to drive traffic. The only way to grow your readership is to get featured regularly on the big blogs.

stackians.com

If you are looking for links you need to make sure your blog appears credible. I would remove the feedburner feed count image until you have more subscribers and also stop doing paid posts for a few dollars. Concentrate on creating a really high quality resource.

MuscleBuildFacts.com

and

Sites like these won’t attract any natural links so you will have to resort to directory links and maybe using Adwords to drive traffic.

live-cms.com

Good use of linkbait articles. I think they might look more attractive to linkers if you allowed comments and an RSS feed so readers can subscribe.

Filling the site with high quality reviews is good linkbait in itself so you might start to gain some links from this.

seowacko.com

Add a nice big RSS button to build your readership. Also you won’t get links from other SEO bloggers until they know who you are. Try to visit conferences and meet some of them or send some emails.

adoproperties.com

This is a site that could make good use of traditional press releases and marketing to the local press and other local businesses. Maybe try to pay for marketing with some local holiday companies or something.

fxbear.com

Some of the images won’t enlarge when you click them in FF. The best way to linkbait would be to produce tutorials about loads of different topics.

signatureweddingaislerunners.com

Firstly I would remove your no right click script, it might upset users.

My suggestion for linkbait would be to give a free runner to a blogger with their blog url on it and then put some photos of the wedding on your site. A blogger using his wedding to advertise a blog would be great linkbait even if it wasn’t totally true.

footballwijaa.blogspot.com

I would suggest moving to your own domain and using loads of photos on your posts.

agnivo.com

You already have good content so it is likely to be linkbaiting and promotion that you need to focus on. Monitor sites like Digg and see whats hot and try to be inspired by it.

getricher247.com

Again you need to make sure your site offers really remarkable content to stand out in a competitive industry. Write a bio about yourself so people can connect with you.

thereviewsthatcount.com

Make sure your site has a common layout throughout and concentrate on creating really great content. Use Yahoo Answers to become an authority in your niche.

lovebirdsinfo.blogspot.com

Good use of images on your posts. I would suggest getting your own domain and using Yahoo Answers and Google Groups to build your reputation.

You should remove a lot of the irrelevant links on the right sidebar. In terms of affiliate marketing try selling books from Amazon and eBay using Auction Ads.

hlips.org

If you want to increase the value of your links the best way to do it is to install a blog and do some heavy linkbaiting. The easy way would be to make it a tech blog and use social networking.

itsoknow.com

As you offer a service I would remove the Adwords ads from your site. You will earn a few cents when somebody clicks on one but potentially lose a big client.

If you want more links I would suggest starting a blog and getting to know loads of webmasters. They are unlikely to link to you unless they know who you are.

lakermad.blogspot.com

I really would recommend moving to your own domain. Also make use of Google Groups and Yahoo Answers to build your brand and traffic.

buylabcoat.com

I’m not sure how large the lab coats market is but you can probably make money referring people to eBay auctions. Linkbaiting will be hard so you might want to submit to some valuable web directories.

smallbusinesscreditcardsinfo.com

Add unique meta descriptions on all your posts. Linkbaiting will be hard so submit to some valuable directories to build your authority. Again try Yahoo Answers and Google Groups to help people and build your reputation.

Maybe try creating some comparison tools as well.

blog.mscholars.com

Add some unique meta descriptions on each post. Monetizing these sites is hard until you have loads of traffic

portablegadget.com

Links pass so easily in the blogosphere that you shouldn’t have much trouble getting a mention on sites like engadget, Gizmodo and CrunchGear. Just write remarkable post and send them an email with the link. Do this often enough and you will get a link in the end.

yearningforlove.com

Read the blog by Markus Frind for some tips Use myspace and facebook to go viral with some applications. Linkbaiting is almost impossible so you need to use social networks to increase your reach.

forumsforsocialnetworking.com

The key to starting any forum is to get members, fast. Try paying loads of people from Digital Point to join your forum. Maybe start a blog on the site as they attract links better than forums.

gmatcracked.blogspot.com

I would move to your own domain and switch to WordPress to allow your blog to grow. Try selling some books from Amazon or eBay to get into affiliate marketing.

newsnotion.com

You are doing great for a 15 year old. Have you tried guest posting on somewhere like ProBlogger or John Chow? Maybe make your RSS button bigger and let people subscribe by email.

lifesperspective.com

Try letting users subscribe by email. In terms of promotion try to think up some remarkable posts and tools and promote them using the social networks.

picturepush.com

Add some social networking buttons below your pictures. Try using the ICO Content auto forum filler to kick start your forum. Join sites like digital-photography-school.com/blog/ and offer tips and tutorials as linkbait.

photochopz.com

You could probably try selling affiliate products on Amazon or eBay. Also offer badges to your contest winners to display on their sites to get some links from them.

Contests are always popular and you could try using some of the paid posting services to promote your site.

Battery Recycling

As with the other article directories I reviewe you need to add a blog and start linkbaiting otherwise you will struggle to gain any traffic or links. The value of article directories has dropped over the last year but if you can get lots of natural links you will stand out.
