I have two articles on Ezine. It gives me credibility when I get enquiries from potential renters, as I always direct them to the articles. Also by having a page 1 and page 2 ranked article it gives good baclinks to my web-site.
Hope this helps.

Its kind of a hit and miss with the article thing, The way I see it, there are two ways to do it. 1. Write relevant articles linked to your site will get you traffic and backlinks. 2. Write articles that are NOT relevant to the content of your site, with backlinks to your site will just get you backlinks. Either way it is a hit or miss with the articles and who is going to pick them up and republish them. I have had articles that were picked up right away and others hardly looked at. Either way, Good Luck!

I am using ezine articles to try and get my ecommerce site more traffic - from reading Patricks Blog, the best way of doing this is to have a blog or articles which add value.

I will let you know how I get on!

I get a steady amount of traffic maybe 100 a month from Ezine articles. I once wrote about 200 articles for ezines, but, I don't bother now. It's good for helping to get a site going.

Google trends for Website shows the estimated traffic/reach of a site.. not how many searches users made on the site if I am right. Btw, Rediff.com dominates most of the big social media sites...! The traffic that rediff.com receives is massive.. (5x Digg) !

Still, Digg is popular in India..
http://trends.google.com/websites?q=ezinearticles.com%2Creddit.com%2Cdigg.com%2Cdelicious.com&geo=IN&date=all&sort=0

I never thought Indians would go to Ezinearticles to search for something. Rather Wiki was in my mind all the time..

Interesting observation.. but I don't fancy Article sites.. due to the fact.. the article are mostly targetted to improve SEO. I use Google Blog Search often if I was looking for user/consumer generated content..!

@Chetan, I guess your observation are wrong.. checking the trends for ezinearticles.com at Google Trends for Websites, India (Asia) ranks 2nd - http://trends.google.com/websites?q=ezinearticles.com&geo=all&date=all&sort=0 while UK comes 3rd!

Comparing ezinearticles.com, stumbleupon.com & twitter.com - Ezine out numbers the rest - http://trends.google.com/websites?q=ezinearticles.com%2Cstumbleupon.com%2Ctwitter.com&geo=IN&date=all&sort=0 StumbleUpon is rising pretty faster..should be at top in few months imo. Twitter has long time to catchup though..!

It's also interesting how UK users search for 'health' related tips in ezinearticles.. may be the niche isn't much covered by blogs & social media which is the fact ezine enjoys amazing traffic!! ?

Your question regarding ezine articles traffic can be answered by U.K. people but in Asia, i think it has no popularity.
SU and Twitter are more popular here..
