Digg buttons added to the BBC website

by Patrick Altoft on August 16, 2007

Social bookmarking officially went mainstream in the UK yesterday when the BBC added Digg, del.icio.us, reddit, facebook and StumbleUpon buttons to the bottom of each story.

Digg on the BBC
As you would expect from the BBC they have created a nice page explaining about the services which is always a good idea if your readers are not social bookmarking users already.

Thanks to John from Silvelox Wooden Garage Doors for the tip.

So Britain needs a mainstream British company to use them for it to be mainstream in the UK?

This is the Internet, most civilized countries are all in the know about these things.
