It’s hard (impossible) to say whether (or when) the rankings will return. The best thing is to make sure you spend time building high quality natural links while you are waiting.

Sorry for the follow up question, but I am really new to this, trying to read so much information and working hard so far with out results!

The fact that my blog got so high – does that suggest I was doing well content wise and when I get more links my site should stabilise in that position?

Or would it simply be a new site effect?

New sites fluctuate a lot in the rankings so don’t worry too much.

Nice post, thanks for the info. One question – is it normal for new sites to rank very high and then drop after around a week.

My new site was in first position for best discount vouchers keyword, but now I can’t even find it.

Is this normal or should I panic?
