Today we are pleased to be launching a brand new feature for BlogStorm – a postcode searchable directory of companies in the UK offering all types of marketing services.
Visit http://www.blogstorm.co.uk/dir/ to check it out.
Currently in beta the directory is going to be a paid directory (£100 per year review fee, more about that below) but for the next few days we are offering free submission to get the ball rolling.
The aim is to offer business owners in the UK easier access to local suppliers.
The directory is fully postcode searchable, includes Google Maps of each companies location, as well as a downloadable vcard of the companies address for importing into Outlook.
The categories we are launching with are as follows:
- Web Designers
- Blog Marketing
- Social Media Marketing
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Pay Per Click
- PR Agencies
- Digital Agencies
- Advertising Agencies
- Media Buying Agencies
- Media Planning Agencies
- Creative Designers
- Viral Marketing
Companies already listed include SEOCO, Distilled and Headland.
The Fee
Once the free period has ended we will be charging to review companies and their websites before they are included in the directory.
The review fee doesn’t guarantee your inclusion and we reserve the right to reject people and companies without appeal. We want to make this the highest quality resource of its kind in the UK.
The review fee is payable yearly and any companies listed for free during this launch offer will need to pay the annual fee in 12 months time if they wish to be reviewed for inclusion again. We suggest you track referrals so you can decide if it’s worthwhile.
Full details are on the submission page.
How to submit
Visit the submit page and enter your details, ignore the payment page and we will review your submission for free.
How do we do the postcode search?
Postcode searches are kindly powered by Postcode Anywhere – the best solution for doing postcode coordinate lookups in the UK.

Hi Patrick,
I tried submitting our business information (Juretic Media) to the directory and it showed a payment page for £120.00 GBP for each year as opposed to £100!! Oh well, I ignored as you have mentioned in the post!
Great job! Directory looks nice & good luck.
- Vinay
Hola! Yeah – I got the same as Vinay. Anyway, I’ve submitted our site because I think it’s a potentially great idea.
One thing about the design bothers me slightly – next to each company listing is a list of services they offer but when you click them you just get a re-ordered directory rather than going (as I imagined) through to the company details page. Obviously the category listings are necessary but navigationally I just ended up clicking the links in a never ending circle until it dawned on me what was happening. Maybe I’m just being thick. I was never very good at Thursdays!
Good luck though
I had the same issue as Vinay – wasn’t sure if we’re paying nothing, £100 or £120.
Also, no Ripon in the location list? I know it’s a small place but we are a City you know
Though I guess I can’t complain…just put a directory up yesterday that derives it’s location list from the postal towns.
Couple of small niggles: Avon is listed in the county field, even though it was abolished over a decade ago (parts returned to Bristol, Gloucs and Somerset); Weston-super-Mare wasn’t listed, so I picked the slightly confusing combination of Bristol/Somerset.
I’ll be interested to see how this performs. Web-specific directories so far haven’t done well for us, so I’d welcome any tips or whether it’s just that no-one as good as you has made one yet.
Nice job on the directory Patrick..
Thanks for the listing!…

Thanks for all comments, will fix bugs and work on a few things to improve it.
More comments from Patrick AltoftHaving a kind of ‘freelancers’ section would be good or is it just company’s your targeting? Just a thought that’s all, good luck with it.

Freelancers can submit, for now probably best to just choose your speciality and go for it!
