Worlds Worst Adsense Ad

by Patrick Altoft on September 10, 2007

While sending some blogging related Gmails today I spotted the worst Adsense ad I’ve ever seen.

Worst PPC ad

No, not the top one, I’m talking about the “SEO optimisation” one. Initially my thoughts were “Wow, I can’t believe somebody has such a cool domain as example.com” but if you visit example.com you can see this isn’t the case at all.

How much do you think this SEO consultant is spending on PPC traffic to a non-existent site? Lets hope it was only a temporary issue.

Yeah I`ve seen that one for a while floating around. Absolutely wasting that money. Must be down £500 by now…

He could of just used example.com as a display URL. Are you sure that when you click on the ad you arn’t taken to his actual website?

Google generally disables an Ad if it generates a 404 in this case however it would not, but it stands to reason that an Adwords reviewer would pull the ad if it didn’t meet guidelines.

The target url and the display url were both wrong, I clicked on it.
