How I built 50000 links in 11 weeks

by Patrick Altoft on / 19 responses

BlogStorm is 11 weeks old today and we have finally reached the magic figure of 50,000 backlinks. The last milestone was 10,000 links which we passed after just 3 weeks.

In an industry as competitive as internet marketing it is very hard to gain any traction. Despite the success of BlogStorm I am still amazed at how hard it is to attract links from other bloggers and the level of traffic you need to attract to build a solid readership.

John Chow writes that his blog is a make money online blog so he has to make money to attract traffic and credibility. BlogStorm is about viral marketing, linkbait, social networking and using great content to promote your sites naturally. If we only had 100 links nobody would pay much attention to the content of the posts.

For those of you wanting the secret of how we built the links, you have to wait for part 2 of this post…….

Did you attract these links or build them. If they are built they are not natural. If the content developed the link they are natural. But does it matter?

The second part will be published tomorrow.
